It is therefore advisable to check for the car’s tire pressure at regular intervals or when you visit a refill station or so. Follow these 4 easy steps to check the tire pressure in your vehicle.

4 Easy Steps to Checking Air Pressure in Tires

  • Have a close look at the owner’s manual inside the car
This is the first and foremost step while beginning the task of checking the air pressure in the tires of your car. Look into the owner’s manual or you can also find it inside the driver’s side door for standard cool tire inflation procedure. It is advisable to check the PSI range as per your vehicle and follow steps in accordance with the guidelines.
  • Unscrew the valve stem cap
The next step is to unscrew the valve stem cap that can be a black or silver pencil-sized extension near the hubcap and is around 2-3 cm long.
  • Press the air pressure gauge evenly onto the valve stem and record the reading
Be careful with this. As the next step now is to press the air pressure gauge evenly onto the valve stem. If you hear a hissing sound, then the gauge is not tight or maybe not appropriate for an accurate reading. At times, a little adjustment in the angle of the gauge can be helpful in overcoming the problem incurred.
  • Replace the valve stem cap
The valve stem cap certainly does not hold air in, but it definitely keeps dirt and moisture away from the valve mechanism present in the valve stem that does hold air in.

Follow all the guidelines discussed above stepwise for a successful tire pressure check.
