- Cleansing kit, baking soda, or toothpaste
- Old rags or towels
- Latex gloves for sensitive skin
- Water for rinsing
- Soft-bristled brush
- Mild cleanser
Steps involved to clean the cloudy headlights of the car
- Clean the debris on the surface
Before you begin with the process of cleaning, ensure that you’re working on a clean surface. Spritz the headlights of your car with a mild cleanser and wipe away any dirt, particulate, dead bugs, and other things that might have accumulated on the surface. - Towel Dry
After you are done cleaning the debris, wipe down the surface with a dry towel until it’s free of moisture. - Apply Headlight Restorer
Now the next step is to distribute a fair amount of cleanser (toothpaste/baking soda) over the headlight lenses. In case you’re using baking soda, you’ll have to mix a small amount of water first to make a thick paste. Now, leave your cleanser on the lens for a few minutes and allow it to dry for a while. - Remove Cleanser with Brush
The next step is to remove the cleanser. Use circular motions to do so by working around the surface of the headlight gently with a brush. You will start witnessing the fogginess disappearing from the lens as you work your way around it. - Clean off excess Cleanser
Now take a clean rag or towel and buff away any residual cleanser present on the lens. Spritz any stubborn, dried-on bits with clean water and then polish until dry with your towel.
The process is very simple and easy. Once you are done cleaning up the foggy headlights, you will notice increased visibility with brighter and whiter headlights!
