  • Cleansing kit, baking soda, or toothpaste
  • Old rags or towels
  • Latex gloves for sensitive skin
  • Water for rinsing
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Mild cleanser

Steps involved to clean the cloudy headlights of the car

  • Clean the debris on the surface
    Before you begin with the process of cleaning, ensure that you’re working on a clean surface. Spritz the headlights of your car with a mild cleanser and wipe away any dirt, particulate, dead bugs, and other things that might have accumulated on the surface.
  • Towel Dry
    After you are done cleaning the debris, wipe down the surface with a dry towel until it’s free of moisture.
  • Apply Headlight Restorer
    Now the next step is to distribute a fair amount of cleanser (toothpaste/baking soda) over the headlight lenses. In case you’re using baking soda, you’ll have to mix a small amount of water first to make a thick paste. Now, leave your cleanser on the lens for a few minutes and allow it to dry for a while.
  • Remove Cleanser with Brush
    The next step is to remove the cleanser. Use circular motions to do so by working around the surface of the headlight gently with a brush. You will start witnessing the fogginess disappearing from the lens as you work your way around it.
  • Clean off excess Cleanser
    Now take a clean rag or towel and buff away any residual cleanser present on the lens. Spritz any stubborn, dried-on bits with clean water and then polish until dry with your towel.
